Our Hope Christian Academy Blessing

We are so blessed to have our boys at Hope Christian Academy!  We never dreamed of having our kids in a private Christian school but it has been such a blessing in so many ways to our family and to other families as well.  I cannot say enough about them!

Today at chapel, they blessed our family in a special way.  At the beginning of chapel, they had Caleb share a bit of his story over the past year.  He told about beating cancer and the fact that we get to go on his Make-A-Wish Trip.  Everyone clapped when he talked about "beating up" cancer!  What a cool thing!

Then, we found out that his class got together and made him and Cully a gift basket of snacks and things to do on our trip.  What a cool thing!  They also gave Caleb a couple of gifts.  This is where something really cool happened.  Over the past week, Caleb has been talking about how we need to make sure we have a pair of binoculars to take with us so that we can see things far off.  We said that was a good idea but had not done anything to this point about getting a pair.  And would you believe the last gift they had Caleb open was an amazing, expensive set of binoculars!  Caleb's face was priceless!  We had no communication whatsoever about any of our conversations...it all worked out!  What a cool moment!

Another cool gift that Caleb got was a journal and in the first pages of the journal there were letters from each of his classmates telling him they hoped he had a great trip and that they would miss him!  Once again, how amazing and what a blessing!  Cully's class also got him a journal as well.  I asked if they were going to take them and write down things they experience in them and they were like "of course...why wouldn't we!"  What a dumb question?

Another awesome gift was a bag of with a picture of an iguana on it that we will soon see in the wild!  Once again, a cool reminder of our trip and something we will use while we are there.  After they gave us the gifts, they had all of us come down front, Caleb's class surrounded us and they prayed for us and our trip...that we would have an awesome, fun filled time as a family to celebrate being cancer free and God's blessings!
