Recap of Today- May 9th, 2012

Caleb wasn't able to come home tonight.  It turns out he had one more round of chemo he needed tomorrow morning at 3 am.  But, they are going to take his counts at 4 am and if they are good, as soon as he wakes up he should be able to come home.  So, I am planning on waking up and picking them up tomorrow.

Have you ever had a day where certain things just hit you the wrong way?  It was one of those days for me. I am not sure I can pin point any one thing that made it one of those days...but throughout the day a few little things added up to a day of nerves and frustration.

We had a good time tonight at youth group.  Andy and I tag team taught and it was a lot of fun!  I hope that God used us to bring attention to several things happening in our world today that students should know about and what our response as Christians should or could be.  We talked about the Koney 2012 story, what is happening in Syria, and Autism.  It was a lot of fun and I think we were able to bring some scritpure into these stories and address some big issues for our day.

All in all, it was just a day.  Wish I could say more, but that is honestly how I feel about today.  I guess you have those days every now and then.

God is good and Caleb is feeling ok.  He mentioned today that he had not been feeling well today and didn't want to tell us because he was afraid he wouldn't be able to go home.  We told him this wasn't a good idea and that we needed to know how he felt at all times so that we didn't have to stay in the hospital longer than we needed too.  He didn't really eat well today and it seems this is why.  His counts were really good today though.  The nurse said they were the best she has seen in a chemo only patient.

We are learning that if a patient is in for chemo only it is different than if they are there because they are sick.  They see different doctors and do not seem to get as much attention.  This is a good thing!  So, we learned a lot during this treatment and will know more next time we go in.

Thanks for all of your prayers!  We really feel them when we are sitting there and are thankful for each and every one of them.

I will keep you posted tomorrow but hopefully Caleb will be home early and hopefully he will be able to enjoy the day.

P.S.-The Elektrolytes performed on ABDC and in the opening segment when they were introduing all of the teams they pointed to Caleb's band...they were all wearing them.  Then, in the performance, you could see them wearing them as well.  It was very cool!  Caleb hasn't seen it yet because they do not get that channel in the hospital.  So, he will watch it tomorrow when he gets home.

Have a great night!

Grace and Peace
