A New Day- April 13th, 2012

It's a new day! I started the day at Caleb's school talking to them and answering questions that they may have about Caleb. Below is a picture of Caleb's 2nd grade class singing "Awesome God" for everyone! What a great reminder that we serve a big God, an awesome God, though the mouths of Caleb's friends! We had a good chat and the students had amazing questions. After their chapel time, Caleb's class was able to have Facetime with Caleb again! These are awesome times for him to stay connected and still be a part of his class while he is in the hospital!

So a brief update from last night and an idea about how today will go...

After chemo, our night was just getting started. Caleb needed to have all of his bandages switched which made for a lot of pulling and tugging on his skin. They pulled his wrapping for his port, changed the tape on his breathing tube, had to wrap his numbing cream and then pull that off before the port was put back in, and ultimately attach his new port. After it was all said and done, it was 12:30 am. I think I made it home around 1 am. It wasn't easy for Caleb, but he pulled through it all and did awesome!

He slept really well and seems to be doing good this morning. He just got back from the playroom where he did a craft and then completed a few laps around the floor.

Today is a chill day! He has a break from the chemo today and will continue this cycle tomorrow. I am excited because Caleb and I are going to get some alone time today. Tera is going shopping and getting a few things for tomorrows clean up day! I am looking forward to it for sure!

So, I will keep you posted.

Have a great day!

Grace and Peace!
