Recap of Today, April 7th, 2012

So, as stated earlier, Caleb needed a day to process and relax. He has had so many visitors the past week and so much has happened to him that he just needed some time to think through it all.

Now, lets recap our day physically and what we found out about what is taking place in his body:

Today was an amazing day physically for Caleb. All of his counts and enzymes were at good levels today. Things that were high yesterday were lower and more were they should be. Things that were low yesterday were elevated and where they should be. They have been working on balancing everything out and his body is responding well. Today, he had more color, less fluid in his body, and seems to have gained a little weight in his face. Another amazing thing is that today he had no nausea from the chemo. In fact, Caleb did not have one pain medication throughout the entire day! This is the first time this has happened since we went into the hospital over a week ago!

Also, we were given the report that they are not finding any cancer from his spinal tap and there is very minimal cancer in his bone marrow. The amount is such a small rate that this does not change his treatment whatsoever. Everything will continue as planned!

Also, Caleb ate very well today! I do not think he ate all of anything, but he ate some if not most of a lot. Here is what he ate:
-scrambled eggs
-sausage patty
-a little toast
-spaghetti with meatballs
-ice cream
-oreo brownie
-dino nuggets with ranch dipping sauce
-doritos
-string cheese
-ice cream

The nurse today said he ate more than all 3 of her other patients combined! They were very pleased with this.

So, it was a good day! We understand that there could be rough days ahead, but we are going to be thankful for what God did today! I think that is all we are asked to do. Today was a great day! We will face tomorrow what we have to face tomorrow but we are celebrating what God has done today!

We are praying and believing that we serve a big God! We are believing that our God is worthy of praise not only in the good times but also in the bad as well. We are thankful for a good day and thankful for family and friends who are loving us through everything we are going through!

We are looking forward to resurrection Sunday tomorrow! I am not sure what it will hold, but ready to trust him through it all!

So, celebrate with us as we celebrate a good day!

Grace and Peace!

"This is my Father's world: Oh, let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world: The battle is not done; Jesus who died shall be satisfied, and earth and heaven be one."
