What an awesome day! What an awesome evening!
Our evening started at 5 Guys! Thanks Gokee's for the suggestion! We had burgers and fries together...it was a good time!
Then, we went to Caleb's school for an activity they have every year called Celebration of Learning! This is in the parking lot when we first arrived!
The Celebration of Learning is a time for the students at Caleb's school to show a little bit about what they are learning. Certain grades do certain projects and have to talk about them and explain what they learned. The 2nd grade class always does a wax museum where they pick famous people from history, learn about them, decorate a tri-fold board, and then when people come up to their spot, they have a speech memorized that tells the highlights of that person's life. Caleb wasn't able to participate, but it was fun going and supporting his friends. His friends did not know that he might be there tonight. Now that I think about it, no one except Mrs. Henderson (Caleb's teacher) and Mrs. Moll (Caleb's principle) knew that he could potentially come tonight. All of his friends were so excited to see him and we heard they were yelling at their teacher to make sure she knew he was there.
Caleb had so much fun tonight! It was such a good idea to go and I am thankful that he felt good enough to go! He talked with all of his friends, spent a little more time with some of them, and then talked with his teacher for a long time. We could not get him to leave because he wouldn't stop talking. I promise he was talking about 100 mph. You could just tell he felt like a million bucks! It was such a blessing to see everyone keep their distance but show love and support to him! We are blessed to be a part of this school!
The school also has a silent auction that goes along with the Celebration of Learning as a fund raiser. The Thompson's did their share! We got some great stuff too! Once again, it was an amazing evening for Caleb and I believe it did more for him than we will ever know!
When we could finally pull him away from everyone, we came home and watched America's Best Dance Crew. There is a dance crew from Gilbert, AZ (about 5 minutes from our house) called the Electrolytes! You should check them out. The show actually airs on Wednesday, but we had it Tivoed. They did a great job and are through to the next round. Caleb's hip hop teacher, Codi, knows a lot of them and so we are hoping they win! After that, it was off to bed to get some much needed rest!
Tomorrow will be a fun day as well! I think some of the boys from school are coming over for our 2nd head shaving party! Most of them needed to wait to shave their heads until after their wax museum was done. So, I think several of them are coming over and we will get the clippers out. Also, we are going to a birthday party and tomorrow I get to take Cully to his T-Ball game. This will be the first one I have been able to go to and I am super excited!
Tomorrow is a full day and I will make sure to get pictures of it all to share with all of you!
Have a great night!
Grace and Peace
