Back at the Hospital

A cool thing happened as soon as I walked in 7122 this afternoon. I walked in and both doctors were in the room. Besides them saying he was looking good and doing great, something else was happening. It did not take long for them to let me know what was going on. Caleb got his feeding tube out! Not only did it come out, he pulled it out himself! I tried to get a picture, but it happened too fast! So, no more feeding tube! He is eating so well, they said he doesn't need it anymore!

That was fun! He laughed the entire time he was pulling it out!

He has had his chemo for the day and still doing well.

The next couple of days he has a treatment every 12 hours. It isn't a long treatment...actually they only take 15 minutes each. Then, on Thursday morning, he has another spinal tap with chemo and we should be sent home! That will be a great thing! We are beginning to like a lot of the people here on the 7th floor. But, as Dorothy says, "There's no place like home!" So, if all goes well and there are no surprises in Caleb's levels and reactions, we will be home on Thursday!

The rest of the day is a chill day! The biggest challenge will be keeping Caleb's mind busy with things to do. I imagine we will spend a lot of time in the playroom as well as the patio. Whatever we have to do, even if it means be bored, we will do it to make Caleb better!

Although we will get to go home, the journey is just beginning! We will probably spend a few weeks at home and then back for more treatment. While we are at home, there will be several visits to the clinic to check levels and make sure he is doing ok! So, although we will get a break, the journey will continue...it will just be the next chapter.

So here we are...Cully is playing Xbox, Caleb is playing Uncle Seth's Ipad, Tera just got out of the shower, Aunt Di is plugging my phone in to charge, Uncle Seth is checking on a rental car and I am blogging.

Got to run...I will keep you posted.

Grace and Peace!
