A New Day- April 16th, 2012

What a god night we had! Caleb went to sleep around 8;45-9:00 pm and is currently still sleeping now...9 am. He woke up only 3 times to use the restroom and went right back to sleep after each time! He was so tired yesterday and so the good nights sleep was good for him...who am I kidding, a good nights sleep is good for anyone! He just woke up and we already ordered breakfast...scrambled eggs, sausage links, pears and peaches, and orange juice. Should be a good breakfast!

So I woke up and looked at the board where they post who our nurse is and nurses aid is (PCT) knowing they had made a nursing change while we were asleep...guess whose back?

ARICA! I opened our door when Caleb woke up and she was talking to someone. He looked at me and said, "I hear Arica!" Funny, he recognized her voice. We are so excited! Don't get me wrong...Mel was amazing as well as the nurse we had the past couple of days, Jemma. But when you have someone for 6 days, you kind of get attached. When she came in she asked if he had ordered breakfast. He told her yes and then she asked if he wanted cereal or anything while he waited for breakfast to get here. He thought for awhile and said yes...Fruit Loops please! So, he is now eating his "breakfast appetizer" before the main course comes in about 1/2 an hour.

One round of chemo today at 12 pm and meds throughout to help with possible side effects! We are praying for a good day!

You know, John 10 says,“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

May we be like Caleb with Arica in our relationship with our Creator..."I hear God speaking." I don't think it is an audible voice...in fact I think it rarely is. As Pastor Curt says sometimes about hearing God's voice (and I will probably mess up this quote so don't hold him to it), "it wasn't audible...it was louder than that!" The reason Caleb recognized Arica's voice was because we have spent so much time with her. Funny how people think they should be able to recognize God's voice but they fail to spend anytime with him. Could it be that maybe He is speaking daily into their life but because they have not spent time with Him they don't recognize His voice? Could it be that He is always with people, they just fail to see how He is working because they are not looking?

God, give me ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart to feel what you are doing in my life today!

I will keep you posted today!

Grace and Peace
