Today was a great day! We are one more day closer to potentially heading home! Dr. Williams was in this afternoon and said that everything is looking awesome and unless something goes crazy tomorrow, Thursday will be our day!
Today was a full day and Caleb went to sleep around 8 pm. His little body was tired! This is kind of sad because he needs to take his meds around 9:30 pm, we will have to wake him long enough to get this done. He should go right back to sleep after it is over.
Caleb played a lot today with our family. We went to the patio where we shot our Nerf Gun from Cooper awhile, we had a coloring contest, a drawing contest, dressed our build a bear with Baxter and the baseball umpires 9we heard Caleb was on TV for the D-Backs pre-game show on FX Sports Channel...we are trying to find it online but are not able too locate it. If anyone knows where we might see it, could you pass that information on? He would love to see it!), did another craft in the playroom, read two chapters of "Stone Fox" for school, had Caleb's 1st grade teacher and 2nd grade teacher visit for some fun and craziness, ate dinner and was ready to sleep! He really has been going all day! But, going is good!
We got the prescription's Caleb will need today for when we go home. It is a bag full! Dr. Williams said we will have our own pharmacy at our house and he was not joking! Another thing that we learned today is that Caleb will need daily shots to help build his good cells back up. So, tomorrow morning, I will be learning how to give Caleb his daily shot by practicing on an orange. How fun does that sound (I mean the orange part...not actually giving Caleb his shots). He will not be very excited about this. He overheard us talking about it today with our clinic nurse, Amanda, who will be walking with us through our clinic visits and treatment. So, he knows something is up, but I believe that we will be able to work through it all with him and he will understand it better tomorrow when Chantelle comes in and chats with him about it.
We chatted with Amanda for about 1/2 an hour and learned a ton of information. She is so helpful (everyone here has been) and we are excited that she is going to be helping us. She is a childhood cancer survivor herself so she understands a lot of the journey. God continually sends people who not only can help us but know where we are and what we are going through. He truly is a faithful God!
I am pretty tired! I would like to share more but they brought Caleb's meds in early and I am going to give them to him and head to bed!
It was a great day! Looking forward to another good one tomorrow!
Grace and Peace
