A New Day-April 14, 2012

What a weird morning!

I was certain that Caleb would wake up before they took us back for his short procedure today. He has been waking up between 7 and 7:30 am almost every morning...sometime earlier. We were jostled from sleep with the news, "They are here to take you." I looked at the clock and it was 7:40 am. As crazy as this was, it was perfect! Caleb didn't have to think about the fact that he couldn't eat as well as didn't have to think about the fact (for a long time) about what was getting ready to happen.

So, I threw on a different shirt, my hat and shoes and off we went.

The nurses in pre-procedure land (that sounds so much more fun than probably whatever it is actually called) said the procedure would only take about 10 minutes. He has two of our doctors in there doing the procedure.

What they are doing is sticking a needle in to get some spinal fluid, putting some chemo in, and then they are done.

We should be getting word any minute now about them being done. We will go back and help wake him up, and then back to the room to start the chemo today.

On another front, when we got down to pre-procedure land, Caleb is like, "I need to use the bathroom...and I have to pee and poop!" We found a bathroom and he pooped! He got done, stood up, and then said, "I feel like I need to poop some more!" So, he pooped so more. Not as much the 2nd time, but we will take all we can get. So, that was good and a funny answer to prayer!

We are praying for a good healthy day and grace for whatever arises!

I will keep you posted throughout the day on how our champ is doing!

Grace and Peace

  2. Can't tell you how much we love you, Jeremy and Tera and Caleb and Cully. Just caught up on all the posts. I hope things are going well and you got the house all cleaned, although it sounded as if he's not coming home until later in the week from what someone said. We miss seeing you all at church, and we are praying for you all the time! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOU!!!!
