So, where to begin...
A few weeks ago, Caleb started having episodes of extreme stomach pain which resulted in extreme vomitting followed by extreme diarrhea (sorry to be so graphic, it is where we have been living). He had one episode that we figured was a viral episode. We stayed home and journeyed on.
A week later, another severe episode. This one was so bad, dehydration started to set in. It was so bad, we took him to the ER. They ended up admitting him and we stayed for a few days. They sent us home thinking it was a viral infection. After talking with many drs, this was a fair diagnosis and one they would have made as well. However, after a day and 1/2, we were back in ER and once again admitted.
This stay was a bit longer and they brought in the gastro dr and started running tests on stomach and intestines. They couldn't figure out where pain was coming from exactly, but now we were connected to a specialists and we were going to find out what was bothering him through time and visits rather than staying in hospital. They gave us anti-spasm medicine to help calm the stomach. We went home and had about a week and 1/2 with little pain and no extreme anything.
On Wednesday, March 28th, 2012, Caleb was once again having stomach pains. So, we loaded up the car and headed to PHX Children's Hospital. We were admitted into room 3305, and that is where we are currently.
Obviously, so many details have been left out. All of the tests that have been run, all of the x-rays, ct scans, blood drawn, and un-answered questions would take forever.
God has been present through it all. I cannot say that it has been easy or fun, but he has been with us through it all. I cannot say that I understand it all, but I know that he has been with us. I cannot say that I do not have my doubts, but I know he is with us. I feel like the guy who came to Jesus and said, "Lord I believe...help my unbelief!".
Thanks to all who are praying! We will try and post daily if not several times a day!
Praying for Caleb and you guys...let me know if you need anything.
